Dear Dr. Wasser,
Million thanks for your mail and still remember me, and
happy to hear that you are already back to your goods
office. Sir, after retiring from my UN Assignment as
Mushroom Expert in Asia and Pacific, I am now doing my
own small business in mushroom training , producing
mushroom cultures and grain spwn for my student or
trainees along with mushroom additives and equipment
under the name of Thai Biotech Centre. I was one of the
prioneer to promote mushroom since 1973 when Thailand
imported mushroom for their consumption but since then
in 1977 Thailand could produce Straw mushroom for 60,000
tons . Now Thailand could produce 600,000 tons of straw
mushroom 150,000 tons for others. It is therefore our
main target mushroom would be straw mushroom which I
could develop variuos cultivation techniques up till now
we could use oil palm empty bunches as the best
substrate comparing those using cotton waste in China,
Taiwan and Indonesia. Currently I have added the
medicinal mu shroom in my production line but still in
very primitive or infant stage by concentrating few
varieties of mushroom like Agaricus blazei, Ganoderma
lucidum, Lentinus edodes, Lentinus squarrosulus,
Lentinus polychros, Tremella fuciformis, Herricium
erinaceus, Cordyceps sinensis, Phellinus linteus which
all of them do not have many strains to be used for
selection. I am therefore looking
for more kind of medicinal mushroom, varieties and
strains for my future trial and
selection. It would be much obliged, Sir,if you could
provide me with more kind, varieties and strains of
medicinal mushroom particularly Agaricus blazei,
Coriolus versicolor, Inonotus obliquus, and any which you
could kindly advise. And if possible the cultivation
technic for Agaricus blazei. Of course there should be
the cost incurred on the cultures and shipping cost,
please do let me know the cost I would be ready to cover
up all expenses. In return,Sir, if there is any
assistance you may need from me or from Thailand please
do let me know I would try my best and ability to do for
you. And if you have plan to visit Thailand, you would
be my VIP guest on my own expense.
Oratai(my youngest sister) joins me to
wish you for all the best and
thank for
all
Yours respectfully

Dear Dr. Anon Auetragul,
Many thanks for your kind letter. I am
not a specialist in mushroom cultivation. I am a
specialist in medicinal mushrooms. In the near future, I
will send some cultures of medicinal mushrooms with my
permission that you can use it in your company. About
Agaricus blazei: I mentioned in my publications and
presentation in China that this is not the correct name.
Agaricus blazei is not a medicinal mushroom and does not
exist in culture. The correct name for Royal Sun
Agaricus is Agaricus brasiliensis. Please send your mail
address and I will send a parcel with publications and
papers dedicated to techniques in cultivation of
Agaricus brasiliensis (Agaricus blazei).
Thanks for your invitation, but I am not
planning to be in Thailand.
I will help you in whatever I can help you with. I was
in Thailand in
June 2003 when we organized the Second Medicinal
Mushroom Conference.
Sincerely,
Solomon P. Wasser
